How it works
On Friday 14 and Saturday 15 August at 3pm the Elmshorn Holsteiner horse day’s foal auction sale collection is put up for sale, and that in three ways.
In addition to the public auction sale in front of an audience – 250 visitors have been permitted by the responsible authorities – there are going to be two other options for bidding at auction. As usual, registered bidders may bid by telephone. To do so, you simply have to download the bidding form from the Holsteiner Verband website and submit the filled in bidding form prior to the auction. Another option is the so-called live online bidding. It is very simple. You just have to register for live online bidding on the website www.holsteiner.auction. Just follow the steps for registration and wait for the confirmation email. On the day of the auction from 3pm you can then follow the auction live stream. ClipMyHorse auctions provides technical support for the 1st Holsteiner hybrid auction sale.

How do I register?
Can I bid without registration?
No, this is not possible.
You must have an activated profile to participate in the auction. Please register here. Click on the confirmation link in the activation e-mail to complete the registration.
Answers to the auction and the bidding process
How do I know if I've been outbid?
When registering, you must enter a valid e-mail address. You will then be automatically informed as soon as you have been outbid. You can't change your e-mail-adress afterwards.
Who can see my data when bidding?
Data protection is important to us. Therefore, no one will publicly know your data or your name when bidding. Only the organizer has access to your data in order to be able to contact you when the bid is accepted. Under no circumstances will your data be passed on to third parties.
Who can I contact if I have questions about one of the auction candidates?

Who should I contact if I have technical questions or problems?
During business hours you are welcome to contact the pro-bit advertising agency ([email protected]) by e-mail.
When does the auction end?
The bidding phase begins on Saturday, June 13th, 2020, starting at 12.00 am. The auction candidates will be phased out starting with the first lot at 6.00 pm. The second lot at 6.05 pm, the third lot at 6.10 pm and so on.
After the auction
Which bid decides the end of the auction?
The end of the auction of a particular horse is automatically extended by another 5 minutes after the last bid, i.e.: I bid at 5.59 pm on catalogue number 1, which would automatically expire at 6.00 pm. Now the end of the auction of catalogue number 1 is shifted by 2 minutes to 6.02 pm, and so on. The auction for the individual catalogue number ends as soon as no higher bid is placed in the corresponding period. The end of the auction for catalogue number 2 at 6.05 pm is not changed by this.
For example, how will I be informed about a surcharge?
Directly after the end of the auction of the respective horse, you will be notified by e-mail to the e-mail-address known to us.
How is the final amount due calculated?
knock-down price (net)
+ VAT (depending on seller’s taxation status, 0%, 10.7% oder 19%)
= subtotal 1 (= selling price)
+ buyer’s premium at a rate of 6 % of the knock-down price (net)
+ VAT (19%)
on buyer’s premium (according to section 12 (2) UStG)

subtotal 1 and 2 (selling price + buyer’s premium)

+ 1,5 % insurance premium on gross price
+ insurance tax (19 %)

How does the payment work?
The Holsteiner Verband Vermarktungs- und Auktions GmbH Elmshorn will contact you on Monday after the auction for invoicing and payment.
